Leo Frank

Senior Market Strategist, Portfolio Manager

Leo Frank joined Schneider & Pollock Wealth Management Inc. at its inception. He is the firm’s Senior Market Strategist and is a registered Portfolio Manager in all provinces where the firm manages client portfolios.

Leo graduated among the top of his class from the University of Toronto in 1962 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. During his academic career, he won the Price Waterhouse accounting prize as well as the John Wolfe McColl Memorial Award.

Leo’s very successful career in the investment management industry spans close to sixty years. He first began at the Manufacturer’s Life Insurance Company as a very young graduate. He then moved to the North American Life Company to join the bond portfolio management department and was subsequently promoted to the Director of Pension Investment Services. In 1982, Leo became the Vice President of Elliott and Page (today owned by Manulife), which was the investment subsidiary of North American Life at the time. He managed its largest equity portfolios and supervised the equity trading department.

In 1992, Leo was recruited by Nugent Schneider to join his newly created firm, Vestcap Investment Management. Leo was the chair of its Investment Committee, a Senior Portfolio Manager, a member of the Board of Directors and a partner in the firm before retiring from Vestcap duties in late 2017. Since then, he has continued to be involved in finance on a daily basis.

Leo was born in Toronto. Aside from being an avid traveller for firsthand industry observations, he is a voracious reader who peruses six newspapers daily and he is a proud father and grandfather to a growing family.
